UC CHTM Tourism Management Students Present BLISTT-Wide Tourism Program at Project PITCH 2025

Tourism Management students from the University of the Cordilleras College of Hospitality and Tourism Management made a meaningful impact during the first-ever Project PITCH organized by the Metropolitan BLISTT Development Authority on December 2, 2025. Guided by their adviser, Mr. Jessie W. Gaspar, Jr., the students presented a comprehensive tourism program that highlighted the unique cultural, environmental, and economic strengths of each BLISTT area.

Their proposal focused on integrated and sustainable development while honoring the distinctive identity of every community. The presentation showcased the studentsโ€™ ability to design thoughtful tourism strategies that balance innovation, cultural appreciation, and environmental stewardship.

The initiative reflects UCโ€™s commitment to nurturing globally aware and community-centered learners and aligns with key Sustainable Development Goals:

SDG 4: Quality Education
The project demonstrated experiential and innovation-driven learning as students applied academic concepts to address real regional challenges.

SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth
The proposed tourism strategies support responsible economic advancement and prepare students for future roles as tourism professionals who contribute to local development.

SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities
By emphasizing cultural preservation, community empowerment, and place-based planning, the students promoted sustainable tourism models that benefit both residents and visitors.

Project PITCH 2025 marked a promising start for the Metropolitan BLISTT Development Authorityโ€™s efforts to encourage youth-driven ideas for sustainable development. UC CHTM proudly celebrates the creativity, professionalism, and forward-thinking approach shown by its Tourism Management students as they continue to engage with programs that strengthen both their skills and their contributions to the community.
