CHTM Welcomes New Students with Orientation Program

January 19, 2024

The University of the Cordilleras – College of Hospitality and Tourism Management (UC-CHTM) welcomed new and returning students for the second trimester of the 2023-2024 academic year with a comprehensive orientation program. The event, designed for incoming freshmen in the Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management (BSHM) and Bachelor of Science in Tourism Management (BSTM) programs, as well as second and third-year students, aimed to prepare them for academic success, personal growth, and community engagement.

The program began with registration, followed by opening ceremonies led by hosts Kyra Emengga, LTSP President, and Martin De Sahagon, 1st Year Representative. The ceremony included an invocation, the Philippine National Anthem, and the unveiling of the UC University Seal. Students were introduced to the CHTM faculty, the College Student Council, and LTSP officers, helping them familiarize themselves with key figures in their college experience.

Informative sessions on Canvas Utilization, led by Mr. Ryan Rroy Q. Bartolome, and discussions on student conduct policies provided students with essential tools and guidelines for their academic journey. These were accompanied by open forums, allowing students to seek clarifications and actively participate in the dialogue.

The event concluded with an address by Ms. Michelle G. Mamaril, the College Dean, who presented CHTM’s acculturation process and college policies. Her comprehensive talk emphasized discipline, excellence, and community spirit. With the successful conclusion of the orientation, students left equipped and motivated, ready to embark on their academic journey at UC-CHTM.
